The Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and Port Arthur Public School Foundation members are hoping you'll be susceptible -- unable to resist the challenge of an adult spelling bee. Spelling bee teams of four members will square off at the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center located at 1800 Lakeshore Drive from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday\, March 15\, 2011. Cost for businesses or organizations to sponsor a team is $250\, or $500 for a team and added advertising considerations. The winning team will receive a trophy and bragging rights. Teams can be made up of members from a business or organization\, or spellers may be recruited outside your organization or company. Call the Chamber for full details or to enter a team. Second chances are available through Round Two for a small fee. In Round Three\, "\;Spell-ebrities"\; (local VIP's) will be available for purchase to consult for assistance. Proceeds above expenses will go to the Port Arthur Public School Foundation\, which provides grants for teachers' innovative classroom ideas and honors outstanding students in the Port Arthur Independent School District.
